About Me
I wear many hats. I grew up immersed in the world of classical music and slowly started moving towards recording and technology. This landed me in the world of film music where I spent many years assisting composers, designing technology for that field, and working as an orchestrator. Most importantly, I started working as a scoring mixer specifically focusing on surround formats.
After finishing degrees in composition, audio technology, and computer science from the University of Calgary and the Berklee College of Music I stopped writing music entirely and chose to focus on mixing with mentorship from masters including Shawn Murphy and Ken Goerres. In pursuit of mastering my listening skills and getting the most out of my work, I eventually ended up in the world of mastering which is where I currently spend most of my time residing.
The pursuit of excellence also left something to be desired from the gear that I use pushing me to develop my own gear nonetheless standing on the shoulders of giants.
The Studio
An emphasis on the highest quality monitoring with most of the gear in the chain custom made or highly modified. Entire Atmos system uses fully digital monitoring meaning that every speaker gets fed a digital signal with a DAC for every driver in the system. Straight connection from DAC to amp to driver without any kind of additional active or passive crossover components in the chain for the ultimate transparency. On an endless journey improving the system.
